Habitat is a festival of electronic music and collective escapism. 32 hours of nonstop rave, fueled by an ambitious lineup of Techno, electro and house acts as well as musical wildcards. Get lost within our intricate festival grounds in the harbour of hamburg: the music doesn’t stop and neither do we.
The first Habitat Festival took place in 2015 on the Hungriger Wolf airfield in Hohenlockstedt. It grew, became more diverse and exciting – with workshops, live shows, endless DJ sets, and four days of freedom.
Since its inception, a special focus has been on unique bookings that gather various forms of electronic music, provide a stage for exciting artists and developments, and also remain open to worthwhile sounds beyond the usual. DJs like Rodhad, Charlotte de Witte, Reinier Zonneveld, 999999999 and live acts/bands like Fatima Yamaha, Erobique, Session Victim & Waving the Guns have performed at Habitat Festival.
In 2021, we and our unique festival had to leave our previous home, the Hungriger Wolf airfield in Hohenlockstedt, due to the nesting of the protected bird species, the skylark. Although events are possible outside the breeding season, we decided to relocate. Change rarely comes alone, so we opened new perspectives, and further developed Habitat.
Since 2022, we have been celebrating on the MS ARTVILLE grounds in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg, in a more concentrated and unrestrained form, with many new impulses.
